About the NAEYC Ethical Tutorial
If you work with families and children between the ages of birth through 8 years old, this tutorial is for you!
Goal: This tutorial will explain the ethical responsibilities teachers, practitioners, family services providers, childcare providers, and family childcare providers have toward children and families in their care.
Objectives:
*At the end of the tutorial, participants will be able to describe the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct in early childhood education, when given the Code of Ethical Standards.
*After reviewing scenarios of ethical dilemma, participants will be able to recognize ethical dilemmas they could face when working with children and families.
*The NAEYC Code will help participants demonstrate ways of handling ethical dilemmas.

Hello My Name is Michele Miller-Cox
I've Served my community as a Family Childcare Provider for 20 years, as a Infant/Toddler Specialist for 25+ years, and as an Adjunct Instructor both at Wake and Durham Technical Community College and N.C. A&T in their Early Childhood and Family and Consumer Science Departments.
Because of my many years of dedication, experience and expertise's in the field of Early Education, and my passion for quality care, I have become a Childcare Advocate. One of my favorite quotes is "It takes a Village to Raise a Child" and that village must understand their Ethical Responsibilities to Children and Families.
My hope is the tutorial will give participants a greater insight on their ethical responsibilities as; teachers, practitioners, and family service providers, as it relates to their work with the children and families in which they serve.
I truly hope this tutorial will give participants a better understanding of the nature of the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct and support their continued work with their communities.
